Many of the questions we get asked on a regular basis here at PANTRY are listed below. Feel free to contact us if you have any enquiries that are not answered here.
Do you accept donations of clothes?
Unfortunately due to limited storage space we are unable to accept donations of clothing items. There are many other charities that accept such donations and details of these can be found online.
Do I need to be referred by an agency to use the foodbank?
Although we receive referrals from outside agencies, vouchers are not essential to use the foodbank as we will accept and evaluate the individual needs of everyone who visits the foodbank. As a completely independent foodbank we are able to write and implement our own policies and criteria with regard to the issue of emergency food parcels.
What sort of food donations do you accept?
We accept most types of foodstuffs but cannot accept perishables due to storage constraints. Please check our "Urgently Required" panels on this website for details of items that we are in the most need of. Donations can be accepted during our hours of operation at The Tabernacle in Thomas Street Pontardawe and during our collection days at local supermarkets.
Do you accept donations of baby food?
Sorry but we are unable to accept donations of this type.
Do you accept donations of toys?
We do not accept toys by way of donation. Our storage space and distribution is limited to food supplies currently
Are you part of the Trussell Trust Network?
No. PANTRY foodbank is an independent organisation, registered as a charity in the UK: #1167724
