PANTRY Food Bank provides emergency food supplies to families and individuals facing a crisis in Pontardawe, Alltwen, Alltycham, Trebanos, Rhos, Rhydyfro and Ynysmeudwy. Helping to alleviate the difficult choice of either paying for food or buying other basic necessities.

As an independent foodbank we operate slightly differently in the way we distribute our food parcels compared to the large national organisations. We do get referrals from organisations working within the community, who provide vouchers for presentation to our foodbank when visiting. These are not always necessary though as we will assess the needs of anyone who presents during our periods of opening at the Tabernacle in Thomas Street, Pontardawe.

Experiencing a sudden difficulty with finances can impact anyone of us for a variety of reasons: poor health, job loss, eviction, bereavement, a change of family circumstances or loss of benefit payment. The volunteers at PANTRY offer tea or coffee on arrival and will direct clients to support organisations so they can get help with their ongoing issues, but only should they request this.

Buying from Amazon? Donate while you shop using this link Amazon will donate a percentage of the price of your purchase to PANTRY foodbank at no cost to you.

Donations via Tesco Store Trolley. We would like to inform our generous supporters that, despite notices in store to the contrary, food donated using the basket in Tesco Pontardawe is not given to PANTRY foodbank. This is a recent development instigated by the store UK wide, food is now donated centrally to Fareshare and distributed as per their own arrangement. If you wish to donate food to PANTRY then we will be more than happy to receive it at the Tabernacle in Thomas Street during our normal opening times, currently by prior arrangement due to Covid guidelines.
