PANTRY Food Bank provides emergency food supplies to families and individuals facing a crisis in Pontardawe, Alltwen, Alltycham, Trebanos, Rhos, Rhyd-y-fro and Ynysmeudwy. Helping to alleviate the difficult choice of either paying for food or buying other basic necessities.

As an independent foodbank we operate slightly differently in the way we distribute our food parcels compared to the large national organisations. Referrals are not always necessary as we will assess the needs of anyone who presents during our periods of opening at Tabernacle Chapel in Thomas Street, Pontardawe.

Experiencing a sudden difficulty with finances can impact anyone of us for a variety of reasons: poor health, job loss, eviction, bereavement, a change of family circumstances or loss of benefit payment. The volunteers at PANTRY offer tea or coffee on arrival and will offer clients information about support organisations that may be able to help with their current situation.

Tesco Store Trolley. We would like to inform our generous supporters that, despite notices in store to the contrary, food donated using the basket in Tesco Pontardawe is not given to PANTRY foodbank. Food is now donated centrally to Fareshare and distributed as per their own arrangement. This is a nationwide agreement by Tesco head office and as such not the responsibility of the local stores. If you wish to donate food to PANTRY then we will be more than happy to receive it at Tabernacle in Thomas Street during our normal opening times or at our designated collection points.
